自民國八十年九月起，本院共治療57例無法以體外震波碎石術處理的輸尿管結石的病人。這些病人全部接受MDL-2脈衝染料雷射輸尿管鏡碎石，53（93%）例的結石只需單獨使用雷射碎石就可以達到完全崩解的目的，另外有兩位病人（3.5%）需要輔助性的體外震波碎石術，只有一位病人有術後發燒後的立即併發症。因此我們認為輸尿管鏡雷射碎石是一種安全而有效的輸尿管腔內碎石，並且是體外震波碎石術有效的輔助治療工具。

Fifty-seven patients who could not be well handled by extracorporeal shock wave lithortripsy were treated with laser ureterolithotripsy using ureteroscope (6.9 Fr. or 7.2 Fr.) and Candela MDL-2 pulsed dye laser. Results showed tha the calculi in 53 patients (93%) were completely fragmented by laser used alone, while 2 (3.5%) needed adjuvant procedure (ESWL). There was only one immediate complication (pyexia). Therefore, ureteroscopy with laser lithotripsy was a safe and effective method for intracorporeal fragmentation of ureteral calculi; it is also a useful adjunct to ESWL.
