蘭嶼豬於 1980 年引進畜產試驗所臺東種畜繁殖場進行保種,並於 2008 年完成 保種品系(Lanyu 200)的命名登記,成為生醫研究用豬之主要豬種。之後又於 2011 年完成白色賓朗豬的命名登記,毛色可更符合生醫研究所需。經過近幾年來有系 統的保種繁殖,得以維持保種畜群後裔之遺傳多樣性,詳細的系譜資料可輕易追 溯祖先及近親係數,非常符合相關生醫藥研究用途所需。為了解飼於現代化豬舍, 且經 AAALAC 國際認證之小型豬近年來之相關性狀,以與早期保種放牧飼養方 式相比較,收集整理最近一年小型豬之相關性狀,做為生產管理之依據。結果顯 示,蘭嶼豬之分娩總仔數與活仔數(n=106 胎)分別為 8.0 與 7.2 頭(公與母分 別是 3.9、3.3 頭);八週齡離乳窩仔數為 6.3 頭,離乳育成率為 86.2%。蘭嶼仔 豬之出生體重為 0.54 kg,八週齡離乳體重為 5.92 kg,五月齡體重公豬為 21.1 kg (162.1 日),母豬為 22.3 kg(164.5 日)。此與 1993 年採放牧方式之母豬繁 殖性能(分娩總仔數 5.6~6.7 頭,育成率 82.3%)相比,明顯改善許多。這些基 礎資料可供蘭嶼豬行銷國際供為生醫研究用途之背景資料。

Lanyu pigs were introduced to Taitung Animal Propagation Station, LRI. to preserve the breed in 1980, and we had completed the breed naming and registration (Lanyu 200) in 2008. Now it has become one of the major breed for the biomedical research. And then in 2011 we completed the breed registration of Binlang pig (Lanyu 400) with white coat could be more suitable for some specific biomedical research. After several years of systematic breeding and reproducing, the genetic diversity of herd progeny was maintained, and the detailed pedigree data can be supplied to easily trace the ancestors and to calculate inbreeding coefficient. In order to understand the related traits of Lanyu pigs feeding in modern pig farm and internationally certified of AAALAC in recent years, the relevant traits data of the Lanyu pigs in a recent year were collected and served as the basis of production and management. The results showed that the litter size on birth and litter size born alive of Lanyu pigs were 8.0 and 7.2 (male and female were 3.9 and 3.3, respectively); the 8-week-old weaning litter size was 6.3, and weaning survival rate was 86.2%. The body weights of piglets at birth and 8 weeks of age were 0.54 kg and 5.92 kg, respectively; body weights at 5 momths of age were 21.1 kg (♂ , 162.1 d) and 22.3 kg (♀ , 164.5 d), respectively. The results were much improved compared with the reproductive performance of the grazing sows in 1993 (5.6 ~ 6.7 of litter size on birth; 82.3% of survival rate). The basic information can be supplied to the international marketing of Lanyu pigs for the background data of medical research.
