〈齊物論〉為《莊子》內篇的第二篇，因為材料義理的豐富及文辭的簡約飄忽，而使得其要旨令人難以掌握。在針對內文分析後，歸納其要旨為「袪除成心」、「道通為一」、「莫若以明」、「安時處順」及「物我同化」五點。由於〈齊物論〉是莊子思想中重要的論點之一，故在《莊子》一書的其它篇章亦可見所謂的齊物思想。以《莊子》外篇中的〈天道〉篇為例，根據上述五點要旨加以探析後，發現〈天道〉篇在「袪除成心」、「道通為一」及「莫若以明」這三點與〈齊物論〉有相同概念。〈天道〉篇的這些思想和〈齊物論〉正好可以互相印證，亦有助於世人釐清〈齊物論〉所要闡明的理念。

‘The Adjustment of Controversies’ is the second chapter from the inner chapters of “The Writings of Chuang Tzu.” Due to the deep philosophical meanings and the elegant wording, the idea of its main philosophy is somewhat hard to seize. After analyzing the content of ‘The Adjustment of Controversies’, I have summarized the main idea into five points: the exclusion of ego, the omni-knowledge, mutual understanding, following the natural order, and the exclusion from Object and being. Because ‘The Adjustment of Controversies’ is one of the most important philosophical idea of Chuang Tzu, the so-called ‘adjustment of Controversies’ can be easily observed in other chapters from “The Writings of Chuang Tzu.” Take the chapter ‘The Way of Heaven’ as an instance and analyze this chapter with the five points above, it reveals that ‘The Way of Heaven’ shares same conceptions in the exclusion of ego, the omni-knowledge, and mutual understanding as what they are presented in ‘The Adjustment of Controversies.’ These ideas from ‘The Way of Heaven’ can rightfully correspond to ideas in ‘The Adjustment of Controversies.’ Therefore, ‘The Way of Heaven’ is in a way helping us to clarify the concepts which ‘The Adjustment of Controversies’ wants to exemplify.
