In recent years, the high-tech industry has grown tremendously in Taiwan. In fact, developing high-tech industry is the win strategy for Taiwan. But, research dealing with human resources management is still lacking. Thus, the purpose of this research is to find the types of human resources management of high-tech firms. A total of 30 personnel managers were asked to Q-sort 64 statements and interviewed to give reasons why they chose specific statements as most agreed and least agreed. Although the study did have some limitations, five types of human resources management were generated: they were Internal Training; Group Compensation; Team Participation; Utility Evaluation; and Individualist. Finally, both pragmatic and academic implications were also suggested.
