近年來，台灣地區經濟蓬勃發展，國民所得普遍提高，人們在物質生活滿足之餘，更重視精神生活之追求。教育部為建立國民正確的休閒觀念，培養國民從事正當的休閒活動，乃訂定休閒教育實施計畫，希望透過大眾傳播媒體、各級學校及社教機構，加強推動休閒教育活動，為期在規劃休閒教育時能有所遵循，乃委託進行本專案研究。

The purpose of this study was to investigate the leisure needs of citizens of Taiwan, R.O.C. The number of valid subjects was 1303. Data were analyzed by T-test or F-test. The results show how sex differences, marital status, age, education level, family income, and residential area affect needs for leisure activities. Also discussed are the needs for different leisure facilities in different residential areas. Ten recommendations are made on the results of this study.
