首先，我们将基本粒子物理中，研究大统一理论所需的群论方法及公式，做一番整理的工作。我们将重点放在应用俄国数学家丁肯(Dynkin)的方法上，因为此方法对于各种简单李群皆可适用，而不限于某一特定的李群。接着我们计算了SU(5)、SO(10)及E6等李群各表象之维数和指数，并把结果列表，以供研究大统一理论之参考。
英文摘要
Group theoretical methods needed in the study of grand unified theories are reviewed. We focus our attention on Dynkin's approach since it is applicable to any simple Lie group. Tables of dimensions and indices for the irreducible representations of SU(5), SO(10) and E6 are presented.
