豔紅鹿子百合成熟乾燥的種子呈棕色，橢圓形，長度7.9公釐，寬度4.9公釐，厚度0.27公釐，千粒重3.11公克。種皮紙質，具薄層胚乳，線形胚，胚長約5公釐，寬約0.3公釐。種子在溫度15℃生長箱內播種一週後胚根突破種皮，五週後發芽率50.7%，20℃則會抑制種子發芽，僅12%的種子發芽。在25℃及30℃條件下種子不能發芽。種子播種在泥炭土中第三週後子葉形成彎勾突出地表，子葉長6-8公分，綠色，故將豔紅鹿子百合的種子發芽類型歸於地上子葉發芽型。真葉為葉身尾部寬基部窄，與子葉可從外形上區別，種子發芽後真葉維持一到二片，豔紅鹿子百合在真葉形成時可在地下部形成小鱗莖，並在播種後二年半開花。

The seed of Lilium speciosum Thunb. var. gloriosoides was brown in color, ellipse in shape. The seed was 7.9 mm in length, 4.9 mm in width, and 0.27 mm in thickness. The weight of a group of 1000 seeds was 3.11 g. The seed coat was papery and there were endosperm and linear embryo inside. The length of the embryo was 5 mm and the width was 0.3 mm. The seeds germinated in petri dishes in the growth chamber at 15℃, and the radicle broke through the seed coat one week after being sown. The potential of germination could remain three weeks in the range of temperature from 15 to 20, ℃℃and the germination rates were 50.7% and 12%. Germination was completely inhibited at a high temperature, from 25℃ to 30℃. Three weeks after the seeds were sown in the greenhouse, the hook of the cotyledon grew out of the soil. The cotyledon was green and 6 to 8 cm in length. Therefor, the type of seed germination of Lilium speciosum Thunb. var. gloriosoides could be categorized into the epigeal germination. The true leaf distinct from the cotyledon was broad while the base was stenotic. There were only 1-2 leaves after the seed germinated. There were bulblets formed under the soil when the true leaves spread and the seedlings bloomed after 30 months.
