本研究取樣台灣北、中、南科技大學或技術學院共三所，調查學生在網路使用和網路成癮現象，結果發現科技大學學生最常用的網路服務是「即時通訊」、「搜尋資訊」手口「閱讀文章/新聞/雜誌」，最不常使用之網路服務是「網路賭博」、「查詢股市資訊」和「網路聊天室」。科技大學學生大部分沒有網路成癮，且男、女學生網路成癮程度差異並不顯著。學生年級越高上網時數越高，學生平均上網時數越高，網路成癮量表得分越高。四年級學生每天平均上網時數顯著高於一、二年級學生。三、四年級學生網路成癮程度顯著高於一年級學生。學生「網路成癮」與「上網時數」、「網路年資」、「電腦技能」均呈顯著正相關。學生「網路成癮」程度可以用「上網時數」或「上網時數」和「電腦技能」預測。

Samples were collected from three technical universities or colleges from north， middle and south Taiwan. The research investigated the purposes of students' Internet use and the level of students' Internet addiction. The Internet services college students uses most are instant message， information search and article reading. College students are less likely to use Internet for gambling， inquiring stock market information， or chatroom. Most of the technical university or college students are not Internet addicted. There are no significant differences in in the level of Internet addition by different gender. Senior students tend to use Internet longer than junior students. Students who use Internet longer score higher in the Internet Addiction Scale. College senior use Internet significant longer than sophomore or freshmen. College senior and junior have significant higher Internet addiction scores than freshmen. The students' level of Internet addiction， hours of using Internet， years of using Internet and computer skills are positively correlated. The level of students' Internet addiction can be predicted singly by hours of using Internet or both hours of using Internet and computer skills.
