本論文發展一種有關想像力的概念，想像力為一種能力，可以將相反的環節結合並保存其對立。其次也界定在自然中的元素性物，同時標示出元素性物與自然事物的不同。最後，本文也證明，在維持元素性物的呈現時，想像力是如何介入的。

This paper develops a conception of imagination as a power to hold together certain opposed moments while still preserving their opposition. It then defines the elemental in nature by distinguishing it from natural things. Finally it shows how imagination is involved in sustaining the presence of the elemental
