廢輪胎所造成的環境污染問題仍為 21世紀所關注的,因輪胎的原料所具有的高強度與耐久特性,使許多學者投入於再利用特性的相關研究。於此研究乃提出新的處理概念,是以輪胎作為加勁土壤結構物的加勁單元,並以拉出試驗來評估其拉出阻抗行為。由於輪胎為一立體結構材料,其所造成的邊界影響將不同於普遍使用的平面式地工織物與地工格網,藉由柔性前壁將可有效改善砂土擠壓所造成的前壁效應。研究以完整和切割一側胎的輪胎進行試驗,在前壁與側壁效應良
好的控制下,經切割的廢輪胎能與砂土緊密夯實並增加受正向應力面積,故其拉出阻抗優於完整輪胎。當輪胎減少一側之胎唇鋼絲,切割輪胎發生之變形量則大於完整輪胎。這些基礎成果,將有助於廢輪胎再利用之加勁土壤結構的概念推廣於不久的將來。

英文摘要

The impact on environment caused by waste tire disposal continues to be a serious concern in 21st century. Since tire’s raw materials have characteristics such as high strength and long durability, many researchers have studied how to take the advantages of reusing these characteristics. In the research, a new concept was proposed to utilize
waste tire as the reinforcement element for the reinforced soil structure. Since the 3D geometry of tire is different from traditional planar geosynthetics (such as geotextiles and geogrids), the boundary condition and interface interaction will also be different
from current theoretical models. To evaluate the performance of waste tire as reinforcing material, pullout resistant behavior is the main focus of this study. Cut tire and whole tire were compared in this study for their performances. Flexible materials were also used in this study to eliminate the extrusion of filled sands caused by front/side wall effect. After the front/side wall effects has been successful controlled,
the test results showed cut-tire provide better confinement of sands and increase the area subjected to normal stress. It had significantly better pullout resistance than the whole tire reinforced soil. When the tire to reduce the side of bead wire, cut-tire occurred deformation larger than whole tire. These initial findings demonstrated and support the potential usage and benefit of utilizing waste tire in future reinforced soil
structures.
