本研究目的在探討各國在歷屆帕林匹克奧運會(Paralympic Games)桌球競賽中得牌成績分析,瞭解世界主要得牌國家桌球發展演進情況,並擷取其中優點,供發展中國家參考。搜集資料來源以International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF 2010)官方網站中 Para Table Tennis(2010)中所公佈1992年Barcelona、1996年Atlanta、2000年Sydney、2004年Athens、2008年Beijing 5屆帕林匹克奧運會桌球比賽中各國獎牌記錄,分析主要國家桌球運動演進及發展,瞭解各國男女組別發展重點。結果:一、從洲際獎牌獲獎率中得知,以歐洲地區獲獎率占68%最多,亞洲地區獲獎率占28%,美洲地區獲獎率占3%,非洲地區獲獎率占1%。表示殘障桌球運動在歐洲推廣普及,佔有競賽優勢。二、從各國總獎牌數中得知,法國得牌數獲71面最多,德國獲64面次之,中國獲52面第3,韓國獲43面第4,為目前殘障桌球運動全球4大強國。三、從獎牌數演變中得知:中國整體實力進步成長最大,法國及韓國維持穩定,德國有下滑趨。
四、從各組別獎牌數中得知:男子站立組以德國獲25面,法國獲20面實力表現最好,但中國則在2004年雅典帕奧會後表現突出,成績後來居上。男子輪椅組以韓國獲38面實力表現最好,法國獲29面次之。女子站立組以中國獲25面,獨霸全球,法國獲13面次之。女子輪椅組雖然德國獲23面實力表現最好,但中國則在雪梨帕奧會後表現突出,獲得13面,成績領先各國。殘障桌球運動在歐洲推廣普及,佔有競賽優勢。在全球4大強國版圖中,法國在各組別中競賽成績相對穩定,德國則競賽成績有下滑趨勢,而韓國主攻男子輪椅組,競賽成績效果明顯。中國在雅典帕奧會後,各組別競賽成績整體表現突出,成為全球新霸主。

英文摘要

This research is to explore and analyze the winning performances in table tennis competitions held in every Paralympic Game in addition to understanding the table tennis development progresses for the world’s major award winning countries.The data was based upon what had been disclosed in Para Table Tennis(2010)from official website of International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF). They included Barcelona in 1992, Atlanta in 1996, Sydney in 2000, Athens in 2004 and 2008 in Beijing, detailing the medal winning records in Para table tennis competitions of each past Paralympic Game. The thesis also analyzed the sports evolvement and development for Para table tennis at each nation to understand the development focal points for both male and female events as well as levels for each nation. Summary of Results:1. For the medal awarding rate at intercontinental level, it indicated that Europe was at the top of award winning rate with 68%, followed by Asia with 28%, American continent with 3% and 1% for the Africa. This signified the European prevalence as far as the Para Table Tennis was concerned, meaning the Europe did have the competitive advantage.2. For the total medal won for each nation, France won the most medals with a total of 73, followed by Germany with 64, China with 52 and Korea with 43. These are the top 4 countries in the Para Table Tennis. 3. For the trend of the winning medals, China’s overall strength made huge progresses; France and Korea maintained their respective statuses; Germany suffered in a slightly declining trend. 4. From the number of medal won at each event level, in the male standing event, Germany won 25 medals; France won 23. But China made an exceptional performance in recent Paralympic Game held in Athens. In male wheelchair event, Korea performed exceptional well with 38 medals won, followed by France with 29 medals. For female standing event, China won 25 medals. France won 13 medals as the second. Although in female wheelchair event, Germany won 25 medals with the best performance, China managed to perform exceptional well after Sydney’s Paralympic Game and won 13 medals since and their performances far outpaced all other nations. Para Table Tennis are prevalent in Europe with great competitive advantage. As for the top four powerhouses globally, France’s competition records at each division were rather solid. Germany performances suffered a downward trending pattern. And Korea’s main focuses were at the male wheelchair event. China became the new world powerhouse due to outstanding performances at each event level in competitions after attending Paralympic Game held at Athens.
