本研究主要目的在探討外籍受刑人在矯正機構適應之影響因素，採取問卷調查法，以臺北監獄外籍受刑人240 名為研究對象，進行問卷調查。主要研究發現如下：在監獄機構適應方面，外籍受刑人在生活管理適應、人際關係適應及教化文康適應的平均數達顯著差異，顯示外籍受刑人在生活管理適應、人際關係適應及教化文康適應上均顯著落後於本國籍受刑人。在監獄機構適應影響因素方面，外籍受刑人較本國籍受刑人於監禁壓力及社會壓力上較高；外籍受刑人較本國籍受刑人於工具支持之平均數有顯著差異，顯示外籍受刑人較本國籍受刑人於工具支持上較缺乏；外籍受刑人與本國籍受刑人在生活習慣衝突及價值觀念之平均數達顯著差異，顯現外籍受刑人較本國籍受刑人於文化衝突上較嚴重，在相關分析方面，外籍受刑人生活壓力愈高，在監適應愈不佳；外籍受刑人社會支持越高，在監適應愈佳；外籍受刑人文化衝突愈高，在監適應愈不佳。

The main purpose of this study is to explore the influential factors in regard to foreign inmates’ prison adjustment by a way of questionnaire aimed at 240 foreign inmates in Taipei Prison. The major results are as follows: In the range of prison adjustment, the mean of the foreign inmates’ living management,interpersonal relationship and rehabilitation activities showed significant differences. Apparently, the foreign inmates’ prison adjustment fell behind the local inmates. In the aspect of influential factors, the foreign inmates’ pressure of imprisonment and society was higher than local inmates; the mean of instrumental support showed a significant difference. It indicated that foreign inmates owned less instrumental support than local inmates; the conflict of custom and values between foreign inmates and local inmates showed significant
differences, meaning that the foreign inmates with culture conflict were more serious than local inmates. Regarding the correlation analysis, the higher living stress foreign inmates had, the worse prison adjustment they would have. The higher social support foreign inmates had, the better prison adjustment they would have. The higher culture conflict foreign inmates had, the worse prison adjustment they would have.
