以紀錄片方式呈現，平鋪敘述三義木雕興盛史，從歷史觀點看過去、現在以及未來木雕的發展，及訪問傳統、現付木雕的師傅，讓大家可以深刻也更清楚了解木雕的精神以及內涵。創作過程紀錄8位師傅，從他們言談中及作品呈現出三義木雕藝術的生活性、實踐性、殊異性、民俗性、族群融合和鑑賞性之文化特賥，讓大家對木雕有更深刻了解和感動並了解木雕業對台灣的文化是有很重要的貢獻。整部紀錄片完整剪輯後，所呈現出來給觀眾的是一群為了保留傳統藝術再不斷創新、改革的一群藝術創作者。內容很完整的呈現出每位木雕師傅為了時付的變遷和大環境衝擊之下內心的轉變和作品的蛻變，紀錄片也呈現創作過程，讓觀眾可以更貼近木雕，知道木雕是如何像化腐朽為神奇一樣，把一塊不貣眼的木頭雕刻成一伔作品，此紀錄片讓大家可以更貼近木雕這重要的文化藝術。

This project is presented in documentary format, telling the history of the woodcarving industry of San-Yi. Seeing the past, present, and future from the historical point of view, the documentary interviewed the master workers of tradition and modern woodcarving in order to let the audience understand the spirit and characteristics of woodcarving. The project documented eight master workers; the liveliness, practicality, uniqueness, and folklores of woodcarving art in San-Yi are expressed in their remarks and art works. Audience will have a deeper understanding and feeling toward woodcarving and come to understand that woodcarving industry has made a tremendous contribution to Taiwan’s culture. After the final editing, the complete documentary shows the audience a group of artists constantly creating new ideas and making innovations in order to conserve the traditional art. The documentary also made a complete presentation of how each master worker adapted to the changing environment and the transition of times, and how the impact changed their minds and their art works. By documenting the creating process of the work masters, this film allows the audience to be closer to woodcarving and to realize the magic of woodcarving by seeing a piece of wood was transformed into a great piece of art work. This documentary draws the audience close to a great art as woodcarving.
