Radiofrequency ablation (RFA) is a new, minimally invasive, nephron-sparing technique with low morbidity for treating renal tumors. We present a case of a 66-year-old male who received RFA for symptomatic renal metastasis 1 year after the surgical resection of a primary squamous cell carcinoma of the lung. A laparoscopic radical nephrectomy of the right kidney was performed 2 years after RFA of the right kidney tumor. Pathology confirmed that no viable tumor cells were found within the specimen.
