非醫原性輸尿管創傷並不常見，只佔所有泌尿道外傷病例不到1%，其中因非穿刺性外傷所造成的更是少見。鈍性外傷所造成的輸尿管破裂最常發生在小孩身上，且常是因車禍導致的，其發生的位置大部份是在腎盂輸尿管交合處，而較少見於輸尿管的下2/3段。輸尿管破裂在早期多半只有暫時性血尿的現像出現，所以尚忽略直到有腰部腫塊、發燒、甚至外部尿路廔管出現才檢查出來。早期診斷與否決定了治療的方式與病人之癒後，所以當在臨床上有懷疑時應給予經靜脈腎臟腎盂攝影的檢查，而當診斷出有輸尿管破裂情形的治療以輸尿管腎盂吻合術為主，而某些情況下在輸尿管修補術無法實施時腎切除可能是免不了的結果。

Noniatrogenic injuries of the ureter are infrequent with the majority resulting from penetrating mechanisms. Blunt trauma is a rare cause of such injuries. Two cases of blunt traumatic rupture of the ureter are reported. Primary repair was performed in one case and nephrectomy was done in the other. The special problems in the diagnosis and treatment are discussed.
