Eagle 症候群目前成因不明，引起症狀的主要原因為莖舌骨韌帶及莖下頷韌帶的骨化或是莖突過長造成，過去若曾手術、受傷、或是慢性發炎都有可能造成Eagle 症候群。引起的症狀包括喉嚨異物感、喉嚨痛、吞嚥疼痛、耳痛及頸部酸痛。本案例為一名100 歲男性，因不時喉嚨異物感及疼痛而至本院就醫，該名病患之側頸部x-ray 及電腦斷層均顯示出相當特異之變化，故特此病例提出討論。

Eagle syndrome is caused by progressive ossification of the stylohyoid or stylomandibular ligament, or an elongated styloid process. Various etiologies were proposed. In this study, we present a case with classical symptoms of Eagle syndrome. Its diagnosis was confirmed by plain x-ray and computed tomography (CT). The patient responded well to low-dose analgesics and muscle relaxants, and his symptoms were well tolerated after treatment.
