《春秋》經在五經之中的地位是很特別的，因為只《春秋》是經過孔子手定，其他各經則是經過孔子編寫而已。《春秋》的內容乍看之下為歷史的記載，但對儒者來說，《春秋》更重要的內容在於其透過歷史事件的記載中透顯出孔子所欲傳達的「大義」。這樣的看法對儒者而言是個共識。但是若更進一步去探求《春秋》經中的「大義」則是人言人殊。其中最大的分歧點在於：《春秋》一書並無直接陳述其所要表達之義的內容為何，所以如何解讀《春秋》便會影響對《春秋》內容的了解。本文試圖透過程頤的《春秋傳》作為理解宋儒解釋《春秋》經的起點。其中第一部分包括：《春秋傳》如何定位《春秋》一書，以及程頤的解經方法為何。其中對於《春秋》纏訟已久的「例」更有其獨特的看法。其次則就內容來說：伊川認為《春秋》經中有數十「大義」所以筆者歸納整理出伊川在《春秋傳》中所言的「大義」。其中包括：「尊王」、「結盟」、「治民」、「天人關係」等四項分別論述。最後則指出程頤所理解《春秋》一書的特色與漢儒的分別。

It is very special position for Chunqiu in the contribution of the Wujing in the Chinese history, because, Chunqiu is the only one book which was written by Confucius, rather than edited for other books. At first glance, Chunqiu presents its historical record in content, yet for most of the Confucianis尬， the most important lessons of Chunqiu focus on the ‘essential mission', which Confucius would like to discover, 企om the ‘historical record' in the content of Chunqiu, and this become the common sense existed m the Confucianists. But when we go further to explore ‘ essential mission' of Chunqiu , we will find too many definition of ‘essential mission' to catch on. The point of deference about hermeneutical attitude is that Chunqiu is lack of presenting what it would like to express reality of ‘essential mission' in the content. Therefo間， how to de. construct Chunqiu will effect us to understand the meaning of Chunqiu. We would start up to understand Chunqiu Soong Dynasty, by reading Cheng-Hao's Chunqiu Zhuan. In the first volume of Cheng-Hao's Chunqiu Zhuan, it inc1udes how to establish the definition of Chunqiu and the method of hermeneutics for it. In the content of Chunqiu Zhuan, it offered us particu1ar and unique exp1anation of ‘Examp1e' of Chunqiu. Besides, he thought that there are 10ts of ‘essentia1 mission ‘ exposed on the content of Chunqiu. 1 try to c1assify and ana1yze the ‘essentia1 mission' of Chunqiu Zhuan as left; “Honor King",“Unification", “Peop1e Management" and “ Relationship between human and nature", and also point out the deference of understanding of Chunqiu between Cheng -Hao (Soong Dynasty) and Confucianists in Ban Dynasty in the final.
