The news reports and scholarly discussions about Polish issues since the rise of Solidarity have been almost exclusively of political & economic aspects,the influence of religion has been often overlooked. I n fact the catholic church plays key roles in political scene and helps to accelerate Polish democratization. This paper explores the catholic church’s unique status in Polish history,the struggle between the secular power & sacred power and the Catholicism in encouraging & supporting the Polish opposition movement.
