于右任生長在一個風起雲湧、英雄輩出的時代。其書法成就雄視古今,其古典詩作亦極不凡,其中論書題畫者近百首,可從中窺其審美傾向。論書:(一)以崇古得其深厚、(二)以人品氣節真情論書品、(三)以沉雄為書法之大美、(四)以積學儲寶論書法之深厚內涵。題畫雖多為應酬之作,卻藉以表達了對時局歷史深切感喟,也表現了明顯的審美傾向:(一)留駐永恆流韻、(二)寄寓難言之韻、(三)畫尚沉雄大氣、(四)畫負丹青使命。綜其論書題畫,于右任以書畫載道為春秋使命、沉雄博厚為書畫共通美感,此二審美觀至為明顯。不論原作是何面貌,都能以言志載道的視角解讀,以沉雄為美的角度賞鑑。寫人寫書畫之作,均寄其神州故土之思,文化傳承之繫念,即便已偏安度日之際,仍不減豪氣。偶有飄淪傷時之嘆,亦寫得雄闊精奇,可謂其詩其書其論,內外一致,為其高標人格的完全投射。

英文摘要

Born in the broad, virile northwestern China, and living in turbulent ages, Yu You-Ren had a vigorous and firm personality. He was educated under traditional Confucian culture, and had a very strong sense of social responsibility. Such background made his poems and calligraphy works a solemn and stirring style. Although Yu You-Ren was not famous as an aesthetician, but his aesthetic conceptions has been shown in his calligraphic comments poems and poems on painting. In the calligraphic comments, he emphasized the respect to the classics, appreciation of moral standing, favor to the beauty of firmness and virility, and the importance of basic training and experiential accumulating. In the poem written on paintings, he showed his aesthetic standard: the pursuing of eternity, the infinite space of soul from the implicative expressing, temperament of virility and depth, and finally, a solemn subject. From above, we can understand Yu Yao-Ren’s aesthetic conception. It includes: (1) To reveal Dao is the ultimate destination for panting and calligraphy. (2) A sense of vigorousness and depth is the pith for both kinds of art. No matter what creation he commented on, he would convey his sincere concern for the community, and exhibit a vigorous and deep feeling. These reflected his constructive philosophy and his firm, generous personality.
