In order to realize the sterility of the contact lens solution, forty sample contact lensd were collected from different cities of Taiwan. Amony forty samples tested, thirty-four were made locally and the rest were improted from other countries. The sterility test was performed according to the membrane filtration and direct transfer method described in U.S.P. XXII. Results has been shown that 15 percent local products are not satisfied, and the inproted products are alright.
