One hundred samples were purchased from Taipei, Kaohsiung and Tainan city during September, 1990 to March, 1991. After being detected by the postcolumn reaction systems in Liquid Chromatography, the results showed that 9 samples (9%) were found with carbaryl residue: 4 of them were imported grape juice, the residues ranged from 0.02 to 0.04ppm, 2 of them were domestic peach juice, the residues ranged from 0.01 to 0.03ppm, the other imported samples (apple juice, orange juice, grapefruit juice), the residues ranged from 0.02 to 0.03ppm.
