本研究透過大陸連續劇《原鄉》的文本解讀，檢視其中所再現的臺灣眷村與警備總部。該劇是首部從大陸主流觀點敘說臺灣老兵探親故事的影視作品，內容經官方審查足以系統性呈現大陸對臺灣的文化想像，因而針對該劇文本的解讀具有一定學術旨趣。研究發現，《原鄉》製作單位刻意放大了警總在眷村老兵爭取返鄉探親的角色，從而將返鄉探親變成了一場政治羅織的衝突與博弈。研究也發現《原鄉》製作單位刻意挪用了若干臺灣歷史事件，加以變造融入劇情中。

This study uses a textual reading of the Mainland China Television drama “My Native Land”, to investigate Taiwan’s military dependents’ villages and the Taiwan Garrison Command (TGC), as reconstructed in the series. The series was the first filmed work that uses a Mainland mainstream viewpoint to narrate Taiwan veterans’ home visiting. The officially-censored content is sufficient to robustly demonstrate how the Mainland imagines the culture of Taiwan. As a result, there is a specific academic interest in performing a textual reading of this series. This study shows that the “My Native Land” production unit intentionally expanded the role played by the TGC in the struggles of veterans as they attempted to return home and visit their relatives. As a result, returning home to visit relatives becomes a political tangle of conflict and gamesmanship. This study also finds that the “My Native Land” production unit intentionally appropriated a certain number of Taiwanese historical events, which were then altered and blended into the plot.
