凹楣絨毛金龜屬為特產於臺灣山地的金龜類群，以其頭楯前緣凹陷為主要識別特徵，目前已有3種的記錄，本文描述並命名近期發現於臺灣中部臺大實驗林轄區中海拔森林之一新種－實驗林凹楯絨毛金龜，並與其分佈在台灣的相近種類進行比較。文中描述並圖示本種雌雄蟲全形、頭、口器、前胸背板、鞘翅、後足、雄蟲外生殖器等形態特徵。

The sericid beetle genus Neosericania Miyake et Yamaya is endemic to the mountains of Taiwan that can be characterized by its sinuate anterior border of the clypeus from the relatives. Currently, there are three species being recorded. This article describes and names a newly discovered species, N. exfocola Li et Wang n. sp., found in the mid-altitude forest within the Experimental Forest of National Taiwan University in central Taiwan, and compared it with its congeners found in Taiwan. The article also describes and illustrates the morphology of the male and female, including their overall shape, head, mouth part, pronotum, elytron, hind legs, and male genitalia.
