     奈米材料若要應用到傳統樹酯產業以提昇其特性,最重要的關鍵就是要在樹酯中完全分散而沒有聚集,甚至還要與樹酯間形成化學鍵結或氫鍵,否則效果與添加微米粒子並無不同。一般親水的氧化物並不容易分散到親油性的高分子中,必須先將其表面改質,然後分散到製作樹酯或塗料常用之溶劑,最後才可以與有機高分子達到良好混合。本文以市場上可獲得之奈米氧呂為例,研究使用矽烷偶合劑改質之方法及改質後對常用溶劑之親和性,並揭示如何經過壓克力基矽烷改質後,氧化鋁可以分散在一些常用非極性溶劑中形成高濃度(>10 wt%)且完全透明的溶膠。

英文摘要

     The addition of nanoparticles into resin has been claimed to improve many of its properties. However, the prerequisite is the complete dispersion of nanoparticles in resin as unagglomerated individual particles, so that interfacial chemical or hydrogen bonding can be maximized. Surface grafting is a common approach to alter and improve the dispersibility of oxide nanoparticles in solvent or resin. The solvent comparability of boehmite nanocrystals grafted with two different moieties is presented here. It is showed that at 9 μmole/m2, boehmite grafted with MPS (3-methacryloxy-propyl-trimethoxsilane) was able to form a clear sol with more than 10wt% solid in aromatic solvents, and translucent dispersions in high alcohols and some other common apolar solvents. On the other hand, boehmite grafted with GPS (3-glycidoxypropyl-trimethoxysilane) is hydrophilic. At 8.5μmole/m2, a translucent dispersion at 10wt% solid can be prepared in polar solvents such as ethylene glycol and water.
