藥物濫用是世界性問題，文獻顯示非法用藥與疾病、死亡及社會問題間的關係。而防毒與戒毒工作亦為心理衛生護理工作者應承擔角色。本研究目的在探討:現實治療護理諮商模式於改善台北市某藥物戒治機構中，海洛因戒治者之自我功能與出院三月內再入院率。本研究採類實驗法設計，於民國83年3至6月間，以四位資深護理治療師進行諮商活動，取樣對象以上述機構中46位海洛因戒治病患為主，樣本以該年3至4月，及5至6月住院戒治者分別組成對照與實驗組，對照組樣本僅接受傳統護理處置與醫療照顧;而實驗組樣本除接受上述處置外，並於住院與門診期間接受以現實理論為基礎之護理諮商。諮商成效於治療前、後，研究者針對其自我功能量表評值。
資料經描述與推論統計方法處理，驗證研究假說，結果顯示:以現實治療理論為基礎之護理諮商於改善樣本自看見肯定上有顯著成效，且可降低出院後三個月內再入院率，研究結果支持護理諮商之臨床應用與社區推廣之價值。

Drug abuse is a major worldwide problem. Statistics offer us alarming details of relationships be-tween illicit drug use and other addictions and death, disease and long-term societal problems. As the largest group of health care workers with close contact in the community and a major force in prevention of social ills, nurses have a crucial role in relation to drug abuse. The purpose of the study was to exam-ine the effects of nursing counseling based on reality model in improving level of ego functions and rehos-pitalization rate of heroine abusers selected from a psychiatric facility in Taipei city.
A two-group quasi-experimental research design was conducted. A sample of 46 heroine abusers were selected from March to June 1994 and assigned by time series to one of two groups: (1) treatment group, subjects in the group received nursing counseling through hospitalization and follow-up period by one of 4 trained nurses; (2) control group without nursing counseling but traditional care. Pre and post assessments were measured. Statistical techniques, such as descriptive and inferential measures were used to analyze the data. Findings showed the effects of nursing counseling not only improved levels of ego functions, but also decreased rehositatization rate of the abusers. The research outcomes supported the value of nursing counseling on clinical application.
