本研究的目的是深入探討準父親於陪伴其配偶待產及生產過程的護理需求。研究者係以護理人員之身份，採參與觀察和深度訪談法收集資料。總共訪談了10位準父親，訪談的內容以錄音記錄，再寫成行為過程記錄，以內容分析法分析、整理，且對準父親的護理需求之含義加以歸類及命名。
研究結果發現，準父親於陪伴其配偶待產及生產過程之護理需求可歸納成:明確的訊息、醫護人員良好的態度、被暸解和被接受、護理人員適時的陪伴及協助、進入生產室的彈性選擇權等五類。而本研究依陪伴待產及生產過程的變化，整體的呈現出準父親在不同時空定點中對護理人員之照顧需求，可做為產科護理人員在提供以家庭為中心的護理服務時之依據。

The main purpose of this study was to explore the nursing needs of expectant fathers whose wives were in the process of normal spontaneous labor and delivery. During the course of labor and delivery, the first researcher served as a care-giver and nurse-participant observer, then conducted a one-hour in-depth interview 24 hours after delivery. The researcher wrote down as a narrative process recording from verbal and non verbal behavior expressed by these expectant fathers during interview. By means of content analysis, the verbal behavior of subjects was sys-tematically analyzed and categorized.
The results showed that the nursing needs of the expectant fathers during the labor and delivery course, could be inductively categorized as follows: Clear and definite information, appropriate attitude of care-givers, being understood and accepted, appropriate accompanying and timely help from care-givers, free choice of being present in the delivery room.
This study was based on changes in various stages during the course of labor and delivery, and can accurately predict expectant fathers' nursing needs at various times. The results can be applied as references for nurses in their family-centered practical care to the expectant fathers.
