中文摘要

     本類實驗性研究的目的是評價教學老人長期養護機構對老人照護成效及員工照顧老人知識的影響。五家老人長期養護機構隨機分組為控制組及實驗組,實驗組由神經醫學教師、老人護理教師及物理治療教師各一名,每週三小時到實驗組參與示範教導。三個月介入措施的前後採用問卷方式測量老人照護成效。研究結果顯示現存健康問題平均數及身體約束平均天數在控制組配對的前後測中顯著的增加,而此兩項在實驗組未顯著增加。日常生活功能獨立程度及主觀健康感受在兩組前後測皆無顯著的差異,實驗組工作人員照顧老人的知識顯著增加。教學老人長期養護機構提昇工作人員提供入住老人健康照護的知識,預防老人照護的負向成果。

英文摘要

     The purpose of this quasi-experimental study was to evaluate theeffects of in the teaching long-term care facilities on patient-care outcomesand knowledge of patient care. Five long-term facilities were randomly assignedinto a control group and experimental group. It the experimental group, facultyfrom departments of neurology, nursing and rehabilitation provided teachingdemonstrations 3 hours per week for 3 months. Outcomes of patient care weremeasured by questionnaires before and after the 3-month intervention. Resultsshowed that the mean number of current health complaints and use of physicalrestraint was significantly increased in the control group, but not in theexperimental group. The level of functional independence, or perceived healthwas not significantly different between pre-test and post-test in both groups.Staff in the experimental group had significantly increased their knowledge ofelderly care after intervention. In conclusion, teaching in long-term carefacilities, may have raised the nursing home staff's knowledge of how to providehealth care for the elderly, resulting in prevention of negative patient-careoutcomes.
