行政院衛生署於八十五年四月公告「解熱鎮痛藥』等十類指示藥品審查基準'該類藥品之查驗登記，採書面審核，毋須送驗，藥品品質的管控則採加強市售藥品抽驗。乙醯水楊酸(aspirin)是一種常用、有效的解熱、鎮痛藥品，亦用於預防心血管疾病。本年度係評估此藥品之品質，包括游離水楊酸之限量，以暸解此藥品市售品質之現況，並比較GMP執行前後藥品品質控管情形，提供藥政管理之參考。本調查計畫委由各地方衛生局於92年3月至9月間，直接至各藥廠或藥局抽樣，檢查30件槍體中，24件為國產藥品，6件為輸入藥品，分屬21家製造廠，依據美國藥典第二十五版所載 之試驗方法進行鑑別試驗及主成分aspirin含量及游離水楊酸之限量測定，經品質檢驗發現，有1件按體，aspirin製劑中分解產物游離水楊酸限量檢查不合格，不合格率為3.3%。本調查曾於92年10月31日發布新聞再案。

In an attempt to understand the quality of commercial Aspirin preparations，thirty samples were sampled from the manufactures and pharmacies in Taiwan area from March to September in 2003. The presence of free salicylic acid in Aspirin preparations was determined according to the method described in the USP 25.The results showed that 1 sample failed to meet the assay specification limit of free salicylic acid.
