本研究利用具漸進式折射率的晶體光纖形成光波導,因而研製出高效率摻釹釔鋁石榴石雷射,其雷射輸出功率為 145 mW,斜率效率為 28.9%,此晶體光纖位於內部中心的釹離子濃度相較於原始晶棒高出 40%,藉由光時域反射儀量測出位於晶體光纖之中心與邊緣的折射率差為 0.0284。
Efficient Nd:YAG lasers were demonstrated using gradient-index guided crystal fibers. A laser output power of 145 mW was achieved along with a slope efficiency of 28.9%. Up to 40% higher Nd ion concentration compared to that in the source rod at the center of the crystal fiber was obtained. Measurement by optical low-coherence reflectometry indicated an index difference of 0.0284 between the center and the edge of the crystal fiber.
