一位40歲的男性病患，18年前便因甲狀腺癌而接受甲狀腺全切除術及200 mCi的碘-131甲狀腺殘餘組織摘除治療，經10餘年的追蹤檢查並無異常發現。自1991年5月起患者因下背疼痛及血尿而接受一系列檢查，結果顯示血清人體甲狀腺球蛋白高達498 ng/ml。鉈-201全身掃描顯示右腎放射活性聚集；腹部電斷層掃描發現右腎有一實質性腫塊。患者於是接受右腎切除術，經病理化驗證實為轉移性甲狀腺濾泡癌。

　　　　　A 40-year-old male patient with carcinoma of the thyroid had recived total thyroidectomy and 200 mCi of 131l ablation therapy in 1982. He had reular follow-up examinations for more than 10 years, and all the results revealed negative findings. In May, 1999, low back pain and hematuria developed and a series of examinations were performed. The results revealed 498 ng/ml of the serum tyhyroglobulin level, increased tracer uptake in the right kidney on the 201 TI whole body scan, and a homogenous hyperdense lesion in the right kidney on the abdomen CT scan. Right nephrectomy was performed and histological examination of the lesion showed a metastatic hyroid carcinoma composed of mostly follicular pattern.
