張載的哲學內涵浩瀚龐大，學界多有人認為張載所闡發者乃是以氣化為主的氣論哲學，但本文另持異議，不贊同張載哲學乃一氣論哲學。本文發端即列舉幾位當代詮釋張子哲學的知名學者，論其精妙與不足之處，總結以牟宗三先生的詮解乃最符合張載原意者。以牟先生之講論為依據，綜合張載哲學之中心意旨乃在「參兩通一」之妙義，而參兩通一原則主要包含三個意義：兼體不累、參天兩地與性總合兩三層義理。總合這三個意思而界定參兩通一，發現此原則也適用在其他理學家的哲學論述，意即此原則是一普遍性原則，可當作儒家形上學之共法，由此原則而入，可以了解儒家形上學之意涵，本文特舉程顥、楊簡二人為證。
