本研究在探討人類對形體風格概念的形成過程中,形態特徵構成對分類辨識的影響。有關人類如何能依據形體之特徵來做分類,其可能牽涉到多種認知層面之問題,本研究則將探討重點集中在特定類別的形體特徵構成印象下,其對新圖形的分類辨識影響。本研究實驗樣本以3D 基本幾何體為基礎,在各賦予特定而具有規則性之幾何特徵關係的情況下,分成不同類別,再由受測者以其自身分類辨識的理解方式,將新的形體依據先前指定類別的規則,來判斷新形體所屬的類別。從研究中發現的實際分類結果,將再與General Context Model 模式中,有關分類行為的各種理論做比較討論,藉以了解受測者在不同的類別的特徵組成條件下,其分類行為與特徵之分佈結構、特徵顯著性、特徵彼此間融合性之關係。經由本研究結果,能得知人類對於產品形體的風格分類之理解機制,以及如何會因環境既成風格概念之影響,而形成特定之特徵結構關係的印象。它將有助於日後在造型學研究中,對於消費者受市場已固定之風格印象影響下,工業設計師能如何有效地操弄形體之特定特徵構成,並以精確的方式,將符合消費者所認知之特定風格類別的產品印象,傳達予消費者,以達到設計師與消費者透過產品做充分溝通的目的。

英文摘要

This study attempted to explore the mental mechanism people use to categorize specific styles according to the features of solid forms. How people categorize forms according to form features may involve different levels of cognition. In the study, emphasis was placed upon the relations between the structure of form features and people’s categorical identification behaviors. With basic 3D forms that possess regular geometric form features as materials, subjects were asked to classify new images according to categorical structures that were organized previously with specific feature rules. The results were checked against predictions based on the General Context Model of category behaviors, through which the differences of feature structures to the categorization patterns were studied. The relationship of form feature distribution patterns, form feature salience, the incorporation of different features, and the different categorical approaches were found. The results of the experiment make it possible for us to understand how people formulate specific images from structuralized features and how specific form styles in the environment affect the impressions of form feature structures and people’s product form style perception. This will help designers to manipulate the feature structure of forms to precisely communicate to customers with suitable form styles that can be understood by the users.
