本文對於廿世紀末期在亞洲逐漸發展出來的聖經詮釋學方法─經外詮釋法做一歷史發展的回顧。這股新興的亞洲聖經詮釋學之所以逐步發展，和南方基督教與後殖民理論的提出關係密切。經外詮法針對亞洲特殊的多元文化及多元宗教經典處境，以同等重視聖經文本和亞洲文化文本的態度，讓聖經和其他宗教經典互相對話，使教會成為和亞洲人民共同追求真理的夥伴。

This paper reviews the historical development of an approach to biblical
hermeneutics, Extratextual Hermeneutics, which is established gradually in Asia in the late 20th Century. This newly developed Asian biblical hermeneutics is closely related to the rise of southern Christianity and postcolonialism. With regard to the uniqueness of multi-cultural and multi-religious canons of Asian contexts, Extratextual Hermeneutics values equally the importance of Biblical texts and that of Asian cultural texts, which allows the Bible to dialogue with the canons of Asian religions, and the Church to become the partner of Asian people in seeking Truth.
