中文摘要

「智能評估」在特殊兒童診斷評量上持續是最受關注及最多爭議的課題之一。本文分別針對國內現行的自閉症診斷、鑑定標準及相關的智能評量工具進行介紹,並討論智力測驗在自閉症診斷上的爭議,最後提出智力測驗應用在自閉症診斷的建議如下:(一)選擇適合的標準化智力測驗;(二)採行多元評量的方式;(三)建立完整且周詳之診斷及鑑定模式。國內目前進行自閉症診斷工作時,智力評量是一重要依據,且其智力分數會影響其所持有身心障礙手冊的類別或障礙程度,進而影響自閉症者未來就學安置的選擇,因此,唯有準確且全面的了解每位自閉症兒童在智力上的能力及發展,才能提供自閉症兒童適合的教學策略、教育目標及合適且無障礙的教育安置的環境。

英文摘要

No other area of assessment has generated as much attention, controversy, and debate as the testing of "intelligence." This article is designed to focus on an introduction for the criteria in diagnosis of autistic disorder and intelligence tests used in such assessment. Different perspectives are presented and discussed to make several recommendations including (1) selecting appropriate standardized measures of intelligence, (2) employing multiple assessments, (3) developing a comprehensive diagnostic system. Intelligence assessment plays a curial role in the diagnosis procedure. The test scores provide educators information to base decisions for classifying students and their choice of environment. As a result, it is highly recommended to carefully use a comprehensive assessment of intelligence for diagnosing students with autism. Finally, appropriate classroom instructions and related services may be delivered to meet the special needs of such children
