本文主要由敘事角度與言語交際角度討論《左傳》之「諜」。歸納《左傳》敘諜計46例: 6例無關成敗，7例成功，2例表面成功實則失敗，其餘31例皆為失敗之諜。其 敘諜模式主要有「將一諜」、「謀一弗聽(從)J及「將許一謀一從之」三主要模式。前二者多見於失敗之諜，第三者則用以敘述成功之諜。透過敘諜模式分析可知《左傳》課之性質，及其敘諜所欲表達之資鑑精神。
分析《左傳》敘諜成敗，可知被謀者主觀「預設心理」影響課之成敗。無論所課之內容如何有說服力，表達如合適切得體，若是被謀者心中已有預設立場，則課之言語交際行為終將失敗。對此，本文針對成功之例進行分析，並比較影響成敗之關鍵。透過對《左傳》敘課之討論，或能稍窺先奈課之一隅。
