p=.000)、高密度脂蛋白膽固醇(t=-5.37, p=.000)、三酸甘油酯(t=8.91, p=.000),體適能之心肺指數(t=-5.761, p=.000)、坐姿體前彎(t= -8.003, p=.000)以及肌肉耐力(t=-6.768 , p=.000),均呈現具有統計顯著改善之現象。結論:本研究顯示針對高科技公司代謝症候群之員工,提供短期健康促進措施有助於血糖、血脂肪、肥胖與體適能之改善。至於長期的改善效益,我們將繼續追蹤。

Background: Metabolic syndrome is a biological alert which signals medical disorders that are tightly associated with morbidity and mortality of cardiovascular disease in this modern society. Lack of exercise has become a commonly known phenomenon especially in high-tech
group due to the tight and stressful life, which may lead to a variety of chronic conditions, such as weak body performance, i mmune deficiency, overweight, diabetes mellitus, dyslipidemia,hypertension, heart disease, and osteoporosis. Some studies have shown that the change of
lifestyle can improve metabolic disorders. Objectives: The purpose of this study was to examine the health status changes after health promoting intervention Methods: A quasi-experimental with one group pre-post design was carried in this study. There are 51 employees
selected from the physical examination of a high-tech company in Taoyuan County in August 2006, who are qualified for the standards of metabolic syndrome and voluntary to join this project for about three-month health promotion activities, including course discussions of health concept fundamentals, aerobics sessions, and nutritionist-advised meals. The measurement contains the vari ation of fasting glucose, physical fitness and the risk factors of metabolic syndrome with the paired t-test. Results: Results indicate that statistically significant differences
on health conditions through executing these activities are inclusive of fasting glucose(t=10.79, p=.000), BMI(t=7.7, p=.000), HDL(t=-5.37, p=.000), TG(t=8.91, p=.000),stair-climb cardiorespiratory fitness(t=-5.761, p=.000), sit-and-reach test(t=-8.003, p=.000) and
abdominal muscle endurance(t=-6.768, p=.000),. Conclusion: This study demonstrates that providing short-term health promotion activities for those with metabolic syndrome can make improvements on fasting glucose, lipid, obesity and physical fitness. Additional evaluations of
long-term effectiveness are recommended to do further longitudinal follow up.
