眼球外傷是最常見造成視力喪失的原因之一。造成眼球外傷的原因中，又以因工作而造成的職業性眼球外傷為最常見的原因之一。職業性眼睛傷害常好發於男性，主要發生年齡為25-49麓，造成職業性眼球外傷的原因，以異物侵入最多，其次是眼球鈍傷和化學性灼傷。在移除異物時，先使用局部麻醉劑，然後再用沾生理食鹽水的棉花棒移除表淺的異物。如果移除的異物具有刺激性，移除後還需要以洗目良液沖洗。鈍傷會造成眼睛的腫脹，所以建議病人需馬上取下隱形眼鏡，避免腫脹後，難以取出。當發生化學性灼傷後，要馬上用大量生理食鹽水沖洗。而氫氣暖的眼部灼傷，除大量生理食鹽水沖洗，還要以1%葡萄糖酸鈣自民用滴劑治療。在適當的眼睛防護下，有將近九成的職業性眼部傷害是可以預防的。戴護自鏡可以提供良好的保護，但勞工常常不願意配戴護目鏡，主要是因為配戴護自鏡再加上流汗會造成護自鏡起霧，另一原因是配戴護目鏡會有不舒服的連長覺。所以護自鏡的推廣及使用，仍需政府和職場單位的共同努力，同時設計出更符合人體工學且不易起霧的護自鏡也有其必要性。

The eye trauma is one of the most common causes of vision loss. The occupational eye trauma is one of the most common ocular trauma. Occupational eye trauma often occurs in men with aged between 25-49 years old. The foreign bodies were the most causes of occupational eye trauma， followed by blunt trauma and chemical burns. Local anesthetic should be use first before removed the foreign body. Then use the cotton-tipped swab soaked in saline water to remove the superficial foreign body. If the foreign body was irritant， copious irrigation was needed after removed foreign body. Blunt trauma will cause eye swelling so immediately removed contact lenses can avoid remove difficultly. In chemical burn cases immediately irrigation with plenty of saline water is important. Eyes burns with Hydrofluoric acid need not only large amount of saline irrigation and also need 1 % calcium gluconate eyes drops. Nearly 90% of the occupational eye injuries are preventable by using appropriate eye protection. Wearing protective eyewear can provide good protection but workers are often reluctant to wear protective eyewear. Patients also cited reasons， such as poor visibility due to fogging from sweat and discomfort. Therefore， the government and the company should promote to use protective eyewear at work. To design an ergonomics and fog-free goggle is also essential.
