This study is an analysis of 1996 Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games's preparation for the games. Using ACOG as an example， it aims to acquire some useful ideas of management for the preparation of large scale games. The following conclusions have been reached : 1.We should decide as early as possible the host city， make plans， organize a special team， and work hard for right of holding games. 2. Setting up Preparatory Committee as early as possible， to develop healthy management and effective personnel operation. 3. During the preparation， we should pay much attention to the sound organization of management and the arrangement of personnel affairs， as well as the close communication and coordination among working groups. 4. We should emphasize publicity， cultivate humam resources， and use volunteers. 5. We should use marketing and encourage the sponsorship from the business and industrial sectors. 6.When designing an activity， we must emphasize the quality of the games. We must not forget that the center of attention in any games should be the athletes themselves. 7. We should make good use of the media. 8. We should make policies according to public opinions and offer high- quality servIces. 9. We should use computerization in the operation of the games. 10. We must plan and repair our game facilities as quickly as possible. We should plan in advance the use of the facilities after the games.
