布倫達治是1952-1972年的roc主席，其任內，由於正逢中國的分裂，「中國問題」乃成為國際奧會中的燙手山芋。在當時的冷戰氣候下，我國成鳥美國護翼下的西方集團，使我國奧會的地位連帶的受到保護。此段期間，主席布倫達治的對華態度，也發揮很大的影響力量，茲分析其對我國奧會所持的態度，並得到下列的結果:一、對中共無好感，對我國較親近二、認知兩岸是不同的運動組織實體。三、不涉及政治，按章行事

From 1952 to 1972， Avery Brundage was the chairman of IOC. During this period， the "China-issue" became a highly disputable problem in IOC， because of the split of China. Under the cold war atmosphere， ROC became one of the nations of western bloc， patronized by USA and our status in IOC was also protected by her. Besides， Brundag's attitude toward China possessed enormous influential power. After analyzing his attitude toward ROC's Olympic committee membership， I draw my conclusion as follows: 1. I.whereas he found fault with Mainland china， he was in favor of ROC. 2. He realized that ROC and Mainland china were two different entities of athletic orgamzatlOns. 3. Being impartial and nonpolitical， he did things only according to regulations and principles.
