本研究主要目的在檢驗「魏氏兒童智力量表」第三版(WISC-III)在不同性別兒童間之因素恆等性。文中根據WISC-III 標準化樣本(N = 1098)運用多樣本結構方程模式進行多樣本驗證性因素分析。本研究以 WISC-III 中十二個主要分測驗與四個潛在因素架構為假設基準模型,分二階段完成檢驗:階段一先就男女二組進行單樣本驗證性因素分析,確認基準因素結構的適切性;階段二則建立階段性逐步設限的巢套模型,一一檢驗因素負荷量、殘差變異及因素變異數與共變數跨性別恆等之假設。研究結果顯示,除了極細微的一處殘差共變差異外,模型契合度與卡方差異檢驗說明 WISC-III 在不同性別間具有因素恆等性,男女兒童之 WISC-III 分數具有相同之解釋意義。

英文摘要

Based on a nationally-representative sample of 1,098 Taiwan children (males N=548; females N=550), the purpose of this study was to test for the invariance of the WISC-III factorial structure across gender. Prior to the invariance analysis, the hypo-thesized four-factor model was applied to each group. Results of the confirmatory factor analysis revealed that this model fits both sexes well. Further, based on this baseline
model, results from multi-sample CFA analyses generally supported the gender invari-ance. Evidence of partial measurement invariance revealed that, except for subtle dis-crepancies involving correlated error terms, the hypothesized model described the data for both sexes pretty well. The overall factor pattern, factor loadings, unique variances,factor variances and covariances of the WISC-III are generally invariant across gender.
