Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of long distance In-Line Skating on the levels of erythrocyte indices. Methods: Night college male In-Link Skating athletes participated in this study (age: 20.78±2.22 yr; body weight: 59.78±7.54 kg; BMI: 21.62±1.97 kg/m2
; V ‧O2max: 54.49±5.87 mL/kg/min). The nine participants were obtained for 148km In-Line Skating test. Exercise time about 7 hours, exercise Intensity at 70%HRmax. Venous blood samples was collected at pre-exercise and post exercise immediately. Red blood cells (RBC), hemoglobin (Hb), haematocrit (Hct), MCV, MCH, MCHC were measured. The haematocrit were corrected according to Dill and Costill (1974). Result: There were no significant changes in RBC (4.91±0.48 vs. 4.68±0.36×1012/L), Hb (14.94±0.90 vs. 14.81±0.80 g/dl), Hct (42.61±2.71 vs. 42.42±2.64 %),
MCV (87.32±9.12 vs. 87.20±9.29 pg), MCH (30.71±3.81 vs. 30.52±3.79 fl), MCHC (35.06±0.90 vs. 34.93±0.85 g/dl) immediately after the 148km In-Line Skating test (p>.05). Conclusion: The 100Km In-Line Skating exercise did not significant influence the levels of compared with baseline RBC, Hb, Hct, MCV, MCH, MCHC after single bout of long-term strenuous exercise.
