隨著臺灣社會經濟的蓬勃發展，人口大量湧進都市，形塑都會區各式各樣的土地利用類型與變遷。明瞭土地利用變遷過程及其自然與人為之干擾機制，可據以研擬適宜都市發展的土地利用計劃。由於空間資料之取得不易，且國內土地利用變遷之相關研究，較少涉及空間之探討以及影響土地利用變遷之原因。本研究以景觀生態學（landscape ecology）為理念，以地理資訊系統（GIS）軟體為工具，應用馬可夫鏈（Markov chain）之轉移矩陣（transition matrix）觀念，針對民國70年代與84年兩個年期之土地利用資料，分析臺北盆地土地利用變遷之趨勢，以瞭解土地利用變遷之空間分佈情形。為探討影響土地利用變遷之因素，本研究續以646個在民國70年代至84年間土地利用實際改變的空間區位為樣本單位，分析影響土地利用變遷之因素。經由多變量分析，以坡度、距河川遠近、距交通幹道及公共設施遠近與土地使用等18個影響土地利用之影響變數，將臺北盆地劃分為六個同質區，進而探討各同質區中的土地利用變遷種類與空間分佈。分析結果除了可明瞭土地利用變遷與影響變數間的關係外，並可提供未來土地規劃或相關研究者更多的空間資訊。

With the booming of Taiwan's social and economic development, population migrated into urban areas and resulted in different types and changes of land uses. The study of natural and human induced mechanisms of land use change can provide important reference for urban land use planning. Due to the lack of spatial land use data, there has been little research on the subjects of the spatial causes effects of land use change in Taiwan. This research applies concept of landscape ecology and uses GIS to measure transition probabilities of land uses of Taipei basin between 1981 and 1995. In order to further investigate the causes of land use change, the 646 sites of land use alteration within Taipei basin are used as sample for multivariate analysis. Eighteen variables were selected to classify the sample sites into six homogeneous regions to analyze the spatial distribution and patterns of land use changes. The result of the analysis can not only explain the factors of land use changes but also provide information for spatial land use planning.
