英文摘要
Japanese corporations are significantly represented in the rapidly growing
international business center of Singapore. This paper examines the processes by which Japanese women are recruited as support staff for secretarial, clerical, receptionist and related work by such corporations. It identifies why these women have been attracted to such positions, emphasizing the changes in labor practices in Japan since the 1990s that have made employment there less secure. The paper then
turns to the key role of labor recruitment agencies in the processes of identifying, selecting and training candidates, emphasizing the ways in which they use websites to conduct their business..
