Статья посвящена отдельным аспектам композиции поэмы Н. В. Гоголя Мертвые души. В первой части статьи анализируется построение сюжета, в котором выделяется три части, мотивируется их хронологическая перестановка, исследуется структура каждой части. Во второй – основное внимание уделяется приему генерализации, доминирующему среди сквозных, системообразующих композиционных приемов.

The article is devoted to some aspects of composition of the poem by N. V. Gogol Dead souls.
The structure of plot is analyzed, chronological transposition is explained, and the structure of each part is investigated in the first part of the article. The basic attention is given to the device of generalization, dominating among other devices, in the second part.
