本文之主要目的在闡述台灣長期照護之推動現況與發展，在長期照護服務發展之策略主軸，將規
劃及推動長期照護服務法制化、偏遠地區（含山地離島）社區化長期照護服務體系、長期照護機構品質管理、長期照護專業人力資源發展、身心障礙者照護等政策，建構符合本國長期照護需求的長期照護服務體系。

The main purpose of this paper was to describe the present status of long-term care promotion in Tai-wan and relevant developments. As currently envisioned, the main strategic aims of Taiwan’s long-
term service system will be to 1) plan and promote regulatory enforcement measures; 2) institute a community-oriented long-term care system for indigenous Malayo-Polynesian citizens living in
remote areas and offshore islands; 3) manage the quality of care delivered by long-term care organiza-tions; 4) ensure the availability of adequate professional human resources in long-term care; and 5)
deliver appropriate care to the physically and mentally disabled. Executive authorities look to institute and sustain a long-term care system that meets the long-term care requirements of Taiwan.
