設計是一種古老的行業，也是一種特別的行業。做為一種古老的行業，在中西方的設計文化裡，設計和藝術都是有關連的行業。舞台設計與劇場有著實質的關係，而劇場的演出呈現是多元化而活潑的藝術，同樣的劇本可以有不同的方式來表達，因為劇本是演出原始的根基，劇中人物角色塑造是否具有吸引力，文本情節是否緊湊，其所相關劇情故事背景與演出場景也要相對的清楚。一齣戲的表演，當文本確定之後，就要開始籌備各項舞台相關的設計工作，並展開舞台的各項技術會議以及舞台設計工作。本文研究舞台設計以基礎做為探討理論，不管舞台設計專業如何細分，舞台設計專業如何形成，舞台設計與表演藝術都還是有共同的基礎，那就是講求有形的空間、講求實用的背景、講求美感與風格，以符合表演者完美的舞台空間.

The design is one ancient profession, but actually also is one special profession. As one ancient profession, in the China and the West culture, art and the design are related industries. The stage design and the theatre extremely has the relations, but the theatre performance presents is the multiplication but lively, the same plays may have the different performance way, because the plays may select the different method to perform, the same stage design also may to express, if the play has continuity. Only after having some knowledge of the background and settings, we could start the stage setting. Studies the stage design is for the first time take the foundation as the discussion direction, its research key following some direction. But, how no matter the stage design specialized does subdivide, how the stage design specialized does form, the stage design and performing arts all or have the common foundation, that is emphasizes the visible space, emphasizes the esthetic sense with to conform to the perfect space which the performer moves.
