放射治療的直線加速器不只用於癌症的放射照射,因為研究的需要,醫用加速器也常常拿來做為對培養皿的組織液做照射的工具;但是培養皿的液位並不會每次都相同,所以本實驗主要是在探討當要對培養皿內的組織液做照射時,實驗該如何擺設,及隨液面高低不同的液面中心水平截面劑量的驗證。本實驗針對研究用的培養皿內液體做照射,採用Elekta Precise 4、6、10MV的加速器,培養皿的高度是1.6 ㎝;內裝液位高度不等的組織液;而把Gaf Chromic EBT 底片放置於一個防水的底片袋後沒入液位高度一半的液體內;經過照射後再以底片的校正曲線回推液位高度一半的輻射劑量。實驗顯示,等旋轉中心點擺設在液位高度的一半處是最佳的實驗擺設方式,底片經過黑化度一劑量轉換後,在液位高度的一半的劑量和給予劑量的誤差會小於0.5%內,此實驗最大的突破是設計一過防水袋可以在不沾濕底片的情況下達到液內劑量驗證的探討。

英文摘要

The purpose of this study was to measure the dose of liquid in culture disc when doing cell survival experiments. We all familiar with the medical linear accelerator for cancer patients radiation therapy but not knowing very well about the absolutely dose in culture disc when setting either at the position on the half thickness of disc or the middle depth of the liquid of the culture disc when doing experiment. Arga was used as culture liquid for doing the dose measurement and Elekta Precise medical linear accelerator was adopted to deliver radiation dose in this experiment. GAF chromic EBT2 film were used for the dose measurement. Because there are no such a tiny chamber or diode can do the liquid dose measurement, the films must be cutted into little pieces in 3cm diameter compassed in a plastic water proof bag to be embedded into liquid for
absolutely dose measurement. The conversion of raw scanner-signal and dose would be calibrated. This was achieved by placing 3 cm x 3 cm pieces of films at the thickness of 5 cm solid water phantom of field size 10 cm x 10 cm, Source Axis Distance (SAD) 100 cm, and were irradiated to dose ranges of 3, 5, 8,10,15, 20, 50,100,150 and 200 cGy. Epson XL 10000 scanner and associated software was employed for imaging the films. Both 4, 6 and 10 MV high energy photon have the same conclusions, the results concluded the SAD 100cm point must be set on the middle depth of the liquid instead of the half thickness of disc container. Above or beneath the disc was strongly suggested to put enough thickness solid water phantoms to achieve the electron equivalent condition to earn sufficient side scatter for contribution radiation dose the liquid in the culture disc. The final results indicate the dose variation was within 0.5% in dose measurement in this study.
