本研究以常規靜脈注射腎盂攝影術(IVP)同時搭配電腦斷層泌尿系統攝影(CTU)，探討37例泌尿系統血尿患者於腎及輸尿管的腫瘤、結石診斷率。病患在注射一次的對比劑後，隨即同時施做CTU和IVP檢查；而傳統的方法是IVP檢查失敗後，再追加施做CTU檢查，不是同時。此方法較傳統的方法可更客觀地評估出IVP與CTU對不同診斷檢查的優劣。結果顯示IVP對於結石的正確診斷率，僅爲CTU的46%(6/13)。37例中IVP正確診斷出腫瘤者僅有2例；而CTU欲可正確診斷出14例。很顯然的，IVP對腫瘤的診斷率甚差，其正確診斷率僅爲CTU的14.2%(2/14)。在泌尿道狹窄的診斷，CTU仍優於IVP。而無法診斷異常的案例，IVP爲14例，CTU爲3例；IVP無法診斷出異常14例中的11例，CTU可正確診斷出異常病因。研究顯示對比劑的CTU在腫瘤、結石、與尿道狹窄之檢查，甚優於IVP檢查。

Thirty-seven cases of urinary patients with hematuria symptoms were studied to compare the diagnosed sensitivity of computed tomography urography (CTU) and intravenous pyelography (IVP) in detecting renal and ureteric tumors and stones. Every patient underwent both CTU and IVP examinations at the same time after receiving a single dose of contrast injection. The method differs from the conventional CTU being performed only following o failed IVP examination. The correct diagnosis of urolithiasis possible with IVP is about 46% (6/13) compared to that of CTU, The cases of tumors found by IVP and CT were 2 cases and 14 cases, respectively. Obvionsly, IVP examination is not as sensitive in detecting tumors. The correct diagnosis of tumors possible with IVP is only about 14.2% (2/14) compared to that of CTU. Comparing IVP and CTU in diagnosis of ureteral strictures, it appears that CTU is heifer than IVP. The unknown cases of IVP and CTU examinations were 14 cases and 3 cases, respectively. For the eleven cases that could not be confirmed by IVP, the conditions were revealed by CTU. Compared to the suboptimal diagnosis of IVP, contrast-enhanced CT urography is clearly a superior modality in detecting tumor, urolithiasis, and stricture in the urinary tract.
