由於我國國家公園相關法規及政策並未明確規範環境經營、管理在永續發展的定位與策略，各國家公園管理處對於園內獨特環境、資源的永續發展，無法清楚指認適切的方向與策略。因此，本研究為了台灣國家公園永續發展的願景與推動，以玉山國家公園為研究樣區，藉由論述國家公園與永續發展、環境規劃在理論與實務的互動關係與機制，及指認玉山國家公園的生態特性與定位，以瞭解其永續發展的本質，釐清永續發展的規劃操作課題，推論出整合永續發展與環境規劃的規劃概念、策略與架構，據以研擬玉山國家公園永續發展規劃的新理論架構與論述方向，初步達成本研究目標與成果。最終，希望藉此揭示永續發展對國家公園的重要性，以加強永續發展在玉山、台灣國家公園的建立與推動，而最終實現其永續發展目標。

Because of our national parks’ relevant regulations and policies do not explicitly regulate the environmental management for the registration and strategy of sustainable development, the National Park Service can not clearly identify the appropriate direction and strategy for the park's unique environment, resources, sustainable development. Therefore, for the vision of sustainable development in Taiwan’s National Parks, this study clarifies the theoretical basis and practical relationship of Taiwan's national parks, sustainable development and environmental planning in the operation and interaction mechanisms. Then, this study explores the ecology characteristics and identity of Yushan national park, to infer the integrating concept, strategies and framework of
sustainable development and environmental planning, and identify the new environmental planning theory and framework of Taiwan’s National Park in sustainable development. Finally, this study reaches the study object, understanding the sustainable development essence of Yushan national park,
clarifying the operation issues of sustainable development and environmental planning, and suggesting the possible strategies and mechanisms for the planning. This study hopes to reveal the importance of sustainable development for Yushan and Taiwan national parks, in order to enhance the establishment and promotion of sustainable development. The ultimate goal is achieving sustainable development in Taiwan’s National Park.
