隨著中國經濟實力與政治影響力的增加，中國逐漸成為東亞區域的霸權國家，尤其中國與東協自由貿易區協定簽定後，更加深中國在東南亞區域的影響。東亞區域具有經濟、政治多樣性與區域政治關係呈現複雜化與政治破碎帶特徵，使東亞國際關係又具有典型的「外部干預性」特徵，因此東亞區域經濟整合就與美國此一外部因素形成某種敏感關係。本文主要認為中國經濟快速發展已具備東亞區域霸權條件，而美國則憂慮中國成為東亞整合的主導力量，將造成美國此世界霸權在東亞勢力的邊緣化，因此對中國崛起美國視為對其在東亞區域內霸權的挑戰。本文以霸權穩定論（Hegemony Stability Theory）分析中國何以應視為東亞區域霸權，以及其如何影響東亞區域整合；而美國此全球層次的霸權在東亞區域整合具有重要影響，並與中國在東亞區域產生霸權競爭。最後論述中、美兩國必須透過對話合作，來解決中國與美國之間的衝突，以避免干擾東亞區域經濟整合進程。

China's rapid economic development has become a condition to be regional hegemony in East Asia, and the U.S. worries China has become the leading force in the East Asian integration would result in U.S. forces marginalization in East Asia. Therefore, the U. S. consider China's rise
within East Asia as challenges. The paper with The Theory of Hegemony Stability to analysis of why China should be regarded as the East Asian regional hegemony, and how they affect the East Asian regional integration. The U.S., the global level hegemony, has a significant impact in East Asia regional integration and the U.S. compete with China to become the leading force of the East Asian regional integration. Finally, China and the U. S. must through creative programs to resolve conflicts between China and the U. S. in order to avoid interfering with the process of regional economic integration in East Asia.
